Olga's Feed The Need
WHAT WE DO At Olga-Feed the Need the Mission is helping impoverished children in Honduras to obtain an education. We are giving them the opportunity to attend school and to learn how to read and write. We are feeding their minds with knowledge that will provide a better future. We are also feeding them with food essentials to provide nutrition. At Olga-Feed the Need we are inviting you to be a part of this mission and to spread your love and compassion for those very needy children in Honduras.Every year, we provide the following: School tuition, backpacks, uniforms, school supplies, shoes and socks to each child. We also give Christmas gifts at Christmas time, every day clothing, toys, miscellaneous gifts and some meals and food items throughout the year. Education and nutrition is a powerful tool to change lives.

THE STORY OF OLGA-FEED THE NEED
Here is a story of the charity I have founded, organized and which has helped provide food and much needed school supplies for literally hundreds of needy village school children and those in need for the past several years in the village of Las Conchas, in Lake Yojoa, Honduras, Central America. For about 20 years I have been sending large boxes of well-received items such as clothing, shoes, school supplies, and other essential items that have been and appreciated by these hundreds of poor children in Honduras. I have been going there at least two times a year to visit and distribute the items to these children and other disadvantaged family home who desperately need them. These children looked hungry, so a few years ago I started providing some breakfast and meals a couple of times a week. I found a lady to do the cooking and I would send her funds to buy the supplies, and the kids were informed when to go to her house for these meals. This soon became a huge success and I knew these kids will not go hungry for to long.In one of my trips, one of the little girls that profoundly had an impact on me was a cute little 5 year old girl named Jacky. She looked so unwell; she had a big stomach due to dehydration and malnourishment, torn up clothing, no shoes; however, she somehow at least on the outside, appeared happy and sweet — as I soon found out, this was true — her spirit and attitude transcended all the disadvantages she had endured! This little girl as soon as she came in asked for water, she just sald “water” not a “please” or a “thank you”. She had no manners and no one to teach her. Poor Little Jacky drank up the last drop of that crystal clear water.Somebody there told me; this girl is very, very poor. A few days later I went to visit where she lived and she, among some other 5 kids, were being raised by her grandmother. I noticed that they did not have a place to sleep, they would go into a shed that looked like a chicken coop at night time, and during the day they spent their time in exposed hammocks in a place where it rains a lot with very little shelter. They drank water from a creek thatpassed by and that was the reason for the big stomach and that is why Jacky drank every drop of the clean water I had given her. When I returned to California while looking through the pictures, I decided I must do something for this family, so I thought of collecting funds to build them a little wooden house and hook up drinking water directly to their humble place. I started selling apple walnut cakes, crochet hats, having Zumba parties at our house and telling everybody I knew what I was doing ln Honduras. My Zumba instructor gave me the idea of the Zumba parties to use the proceeds for this cause. My friends are generous, wonderful, and kind hearted. So the house got built and the water got installed. Most of the children that come to see me when I am in Honduras are very poor, some are beggers, some sell trinkets to help their families and for them there is not a possibilty of attending school due to the expenses of school materials, uniforms, backpacks, shoes, etc. There is not much in their homes to eat so they go to school hungry. Therefore I started to provide for Jacky and her two brothers schooling and food. Now the program has increased and we have 20 children signed up in school from grades 1st. To 8th. During this pandemic they are really suffering so 1 have been sending food supplies every two weeks. The picture attached is from today Sunday, when they came to collect their food provisions of beans, sugar, rice, spaghetti etc. I had a video called and got to see everyone. So REWARDING!
